It may be true that not many of you woke up this morning to the thought that your life would receive a noticeable boost if you had the opportunity of reading your favorite Edgar Allen Poe piece to a small crowd of fellow Poe lovers. That is because some thoughts are best left for when you are sitting by a computer reading our newsletter.
You see Michael Johnson of UMF has been doing a fabulous job of arranging for events to celebrate the 250th anniversary of Poe's birth You can check out his Poe/After Poe Blog to scroll through all the great stuff he has planned. For our purposes, however, let's stick to the Selections from The Complete Tales and Poems of Edgar Allan Poe: A Reading which we are hosting on September 24th at 5:30 pm. So what about it? We're looking some readers (and some listeners of course, those help too) to join us on the 24th. Give us a shout to say yes.
Here they are! Our weekly picks for the two best: two hardcover, two paperback, and two children's books. The very best new arrivals to leap out of the box and onto our shelves this week. Call or email us if you want more information on any of these titles, or to have us hold you a copy. Or stop in and check them out in person. We'd love to see you. Thanks as always for sharing your reading with us!
