Let's take a moment and consider highly-anticipated forthcoming titles, such as the final book in Steig Larsson's Millenium Trilogy, The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest, and the final book in Suzanne Collins' Hunger Games Trilogy, Mockingjay . As various corporate retailers and e-tailers strategize on ways to corner the market on them perhaps we should quiz ourselves as to how the lead characters in these books would obtain their own personal copies.

Would Lisbeth Salander purchase her copy of The Girl Who Kicked a Hornets Nest by
☐ A. Ordering online and exposing her sensitive information to other hackers.
☐ B. Using the billions she stole from corporate swindler Wennerstrom to buy a copy at a corporate bookstore.
☑ C. Using the billions she stole from corporate swindler Wennerstrom to buy a copy at her local bookseller.

Would Katniss Everdeen purchase her copy of Mockingjay by
☐ A. Buying her copy at a chic Capital City bookstore.
☐ B. Trading a rabbit pelt for it in the hob.
☑ C. Exploring district 13 to find that the survivors of District 12's black market were now running a District 13 bookstore, and then purchasing it from her old friends in exchange for a rabbit pelt.

Bearing the results of our poll in mind we are offering our beloved customers a special deal on these two titles. Anyone who pre-pays for The Girl Who Kicked The Hornet's Nest will recieve a $ 7.50 DDG coupon they can use on any future purchase and anyone who prepays for Mockingjay will receive a $5.00 DDG coupon. Stop by anytime!

Here they are! Our weekly picks for the two best: two hardcover, two paperback, and two children's books. The very best new arrivals to leap out of the box and onto our shelves this week. The week of April 21st must not have gotten the memo on this April being National Poetry Month. Or perhaps this is national Colorful Historical Figure From 19th Century American History Week, and I missed that memo. In any case there are three strong history releases this week, starting with Peter Cary's fascinating fictional exploration of the author of Democracy in America, Alexis de Tocqueville. ...More

An interesting counterpoint to the the sense of empire presented in The War Lovers is to be found in T.J. Stiles's National Book Award winning account of railroad tycoon Cornelius Vanderbilt.
