Information about Juniper Press Books & Publications Our Juniper Books Series consists of chapbooks by contemporary poets, translators, and/or fiction writers. Juniper Press is the oldest publisher of a regular series of chapbooks in this country. Some back issues of this series are available, but numbers 1-20 are o. p. or scarce. The WNJ Series (William Nicholas Judson Series of Contemporary American Poets) is a series of letterpress or offset printed books on quality paper, hand sewn or saddle stitched, issued once a year in January. First editions are usually limited, 10 or 15 of which are case bound in cloth, numbered, and signed by the authors. Later printings of these books are often available in offset printed editions. Books in this series have won Midwestern and Wisconsin Book Awards. Chickadees (formerly our haiku-short poem series) are hand set, printed by letterpress, and hand sewn. They are 12-40 pages each and come in very limited quantities. Our Voyages to the Inland Seas Series (formerly issued by the University of WisconsinLa Crosses Murphy Library and Edited by John Judson) was initiated in 1981 for the publication of larger works of both poetry and prose. Books in this series sometimes substitute in our subscriptions for Juniper Books. They are also available for individual sale. Northeast is an annual little magazine published by Juniper Press and edited by John and Joanne Judson at La Crosse, Wisconsin. It is 37 years old and has several times been named one of the ten best little magazines in the U.S.A. We often print by letterpress poems and items which we send out as gifts to our subscribers and friends of the Press. Complete runs of the Press are no longer available, but anyone interested in seeing such is asked to contact us. We will be happy to direct the questioner to the closest library or collector. |
